ENVIRONMENTALIST

AN INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR WAS ORGANIZED ON THE OCCASION OF THE PAPER BAG DAY ON 12-JULY-2020.

The event aimed to highlight the menace of plastic bags, their role in environmental degradation and their non-decomposable nature. Plastic pollution of the sea also harmed the marine environment and caused the death of marine life. Many such points were discussed, and a resolution was taken to bring about a ban on plastic bags worldwide, encourage the use of paper bags, undertake tree plantation drives.

Unauthorized felling of trees is a criminal offence in many Western countries. Such aspects were discussed, and it was proposed to bring such strong legislation in India as well. Even for the manufacture of paper when trees were felled, positive afforestation was undertaken to improve the green cover.

Dr. Ramesh Nath Lingutla actively participated in this event along with other fellow luminaries like the Former Joint Director CBI and JD Foundation Chairman V.V Lakshmi Narayana and CMD of Ayushman Bhava Dr. Pathan Abdel Rehman.

Patriot

Dr.Ramesh Nath Lingutla was always inspired to be fearless by India’s great freedom fighters in fighting for justice or lending a hand to a genuine cause. He was particularly inspired by Sardar Vallabhai Patel on how he stitched together all the princely states post-independence to create a united India and the great martyr Bhagat Singh on how he courageously opposed the British.

To inspire the future youth to look upon these icons and mould their lives likewise in the nation’s service, Dr.Ramesh Nath Lingutla was instrumental in the public installation of the statues of these personalities and also contributed to the cause. He was also part of the National Unity Day celebrations on 31-Oct-2020 and the chief guest for the unveiling of the statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.

With so many distractions around, today’s youth faced challenges in staying disciplined and focussed. To foster the scientific spirit and ensure that the youth were self-motivated to succeed, an ‘Unbelievable Scientist Photo Exhibition’ was organized in February 2021 by the REACH Global Foundation.

Students were encouraged to select and exhibit photos of scientists from all around the world. Each student then had to detail that particular scientist based on the data gathered and the study undertaken about their life. The event was a huge success with participation from all stakeholders – students, teachers, parents and the general public and was well covered in local Telugu newspapers. Finally, participation certificates were also issued to the students on behalf of the REACH Global Foundation.
